About

In June 1940, the first commercial flights between London and Lisbon took off aboard the distinctive DH.91 Albatross, opening a new chapter in travel between the two countries. More than 80 years later, that journey continues as millions of travellers move between the two countries each year – a fitting reflection of our own Anglo-Portuguese heritage. This remarkable wine was made 75 years after those first pioneering flights and has aged in cask at the Graham’s 1890 Lodge for more than a decade. 

 

Tasting

Wonderful aromas of fresh red cherry, pomegranate, and honey, leading to a finely textured palate  where red fruits meld with quince and hints of ginger and cinnamon. Full and flavoursome with the rare balance between youthful fruit and nutty notes derived from wood ageing.

 

Serving

It is recommended that the wine be served lightly chilled to enjoy it at its best. Once open, the wine will keep in good condition for up to 8 weeks.
